Welcome to my website! I am Rose Longworth, and I’m a licensed professional counselor.
I have practiced as a mental health counselor since 2002 in local Community Services Boards, seeing a broad range of clients and their issues. I have recently opened an office in Bridgewater. I have been counselling people for over twenty years and worked with dreams and dream groups for forty plus years. I now specialize in mental health wellness, including working with depression and anxiety, trauma, wounded child and grief issues. My clientele includes adults, seniors, adolescents, and I work with couples.
My preferred modality is psychoanalytic, working with art therapy, dreams and Mari. I recommend you work with me if you decide to engage in psychoanalytic work with your dreams.
I facilitate consultation either by Telehealth or in person. I work with a sliding scale if needed.
Counseling per hour is $85 for initial session and $65 for sessions thereafter. I do not claim insurance for you but will help with paperwork if you need anything from me in that department. If making an appointment to see me at my office in Bridgewater, you can pay at the time of appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hour notice will be charged at the rate of $25.
The opening pages of the Dream Leaflet invites you to put your Right Side of Brain Artwork down before working on the dream. Examples can be seen on Blog titled Right Side of Brain Exercise and the Dream Leaflet.

I look forward to working with you. You will have the support of a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a dream specialist when you work with me, with a total of forty five years experience, combined counseling and psychoanalytic work with dreams.

My therapy session with Rose Longworth deeply activated emotional healing for my inner child so often ignored, even after years of therapy and healing work on myself. Rose quickly creates a safe, conversational environment that allows the hidden but key issues to arise. Deep inner dimensions were constellated as Rose used her unique style of art and inquiry to characterize my deepest betrayal and the family members involved as well as the timeline. Her way of listening with sacred attention was honoring to my soul. My inner girl felt relief to see my most painful problems drawn on paper because it meant to the young one inside that the problem was no longer actually in me but “out there” on the paper, captured, explained, and fixed, for all to see. I feel great emotional support from this process. The use of colorful art pens is very engaging and somehow makes the problem feel more like a creative challenge and less like a clinical problem. Therapy becomes fun and moves deeply, activating real healing, change and awareness. While other therapists may glide over and “miss” the way my inner child is used to hiding and being flattened, Rose is extremely loyal to restoring wholeness and expertly showing me how wholeness looks for a girl who has been so wounded by family. I came away feeling that Rose is my trustworthy ally, my mirror of truth, and I am forever grateful. In the days following our session, I felt and still feel a vivid connection to my emotional self. I love the concrete homework of making an altar to honor my inner girl and her feeling nature. Now that I’ve found my inner girl and know her better, I can protect her really well. I wholeheartedly recommend Rose and this therapy for people of all ages and all stages. Profound! Thank you with deepest gratitude!
What a wonderful way to describe what happens. Thank you.
Hi Rose! I love seeing you at the market! Thank you for sharing your web page with me and giving me a card!
-Angel (The Lovin’ Crab)
Dear Angel, I am always delighted to see you at market and partake of those loving crabs.
Congratulations on your beautiful website, Rose!
Glad you got there. Love from Rose
In response to my blog, a fan of my writing wrote me today in an e-mail the following: I appreciate that from the perspective of the blog literature, your attitudes are just right and a plus. Your little rants about yourself have a tremendous charm and add value and appeal.
I am really so happy to find the openness to personal revelation that is in your blog. That is such a gift to the community and to your family. The older generation was sure that people would use such information “against you”. But when one reaches a certain stage in life and development the whole preoccupation with being “vulnerable” looses meaning.
Love to you.
Than you to M for your comments and encouragement.
FRIENDS! ROSE LONGWORTH IS AN AMAZING THERAPIST and her work is pure revelation! GO FOR IT! Great for the whole FAMILY! Dreamwork is a little like sacred play that reveals so much in a safe way! Just the WITNESSED expression opens the way for transformation naturally!
Thanks for your enthusiasm and for your work with dreams also.
I met Rose yesterday. She asked about current dreams, I was focused on the past ones that influenced me. I told Rose that I haven’t really had memorable dreams lately…very true. Last night it was like a clog was removed. I had a very active dream night. Thx Rose!! You must have cleared a blockage in my subconscious!!
Glad to have been of help
Hello Rose! Your website is lovely! Thank you for sharing! It’s always a pleasure to chat with you at the Farmers’ Market. You are full of positive energy, light, and peace and I always feel joyful after seeing you.
Thank you Christie. I gave one of your marvelous cards, as a present to my friend whose birthday party I missed. I hopes the rooster would sing to her in my stead and she thought it was beautiful and funny. Rose
I visited with Rose at the Farmers’ Market on Saturday. She asked me about my recent dreams. I had been patiently waiting to share with her one I found particularly interesting. I was excited to hear her thoughts. In this dream I moved into a new house. The house was adjacent to a mall. However, visitors to the mall walked thru my home, using it as a short cut to enter the shopping center. As an introverted, private person, this dream was a true NIGHTMARE! I repeatedly screamed at the relentless trespassers to “GET OUT!” and that they were on “PRIVATE PROPERTY!”
Rose suggested that the home in my dream represented my body… my temple. And that there is something in my life that is troubling me… something that I need to resolve… something that I need to “GET OUT!” As always, Rose’s explanation was simple, yet profound. And I was left feeling encouraged and inspired to do some inner self work. Thank you so much Rose.
Christie, Thank you for sharing your dream in this open forum. I was wondering how much of it I could share in my blog and I see your shared it all, down to your inner feelings. It is always a pleasure to pause and look at your beautiful cards in the Harrisonburg Farmer’s Market. When I have someone special to whom I want to send a card, I choose your creations. I liked your conclusion above that there is something to “GET OUT.” I look forward to seeing you soon again.
